Riding in Tulsa Tough

Meet Susie Quiroz!

I’m not a cyclist. I am a traumatic brain injury survivor with ambitions that sometimes surpass my body’s capabilities. A brain damaging swimming pool accident removed almost all of my physical mobility. I had to start over and learn how to move my body again.

I could look back and say, “Why didn’t I ever fully recover?” But instead I will say, “God didn’t have to give me the use of most of my body again, but He did anyway.”

Chris Lieberman and Kim Hann didn’t have to start Brain Injury Recovery Foundation to provide services and support for TBI patients in the Tulsa area, but they did anyway. That is an organization I can get behind. Everyone recovering from such a life-altering condition deserves to have support and services made available to them. The journey to recovery can be so lonely.

So I have chosen to ride in Tulsa Tough to represent and raise money for BrainInjuryRF. I might be limited to a life of chronic pain and confinement to a leg brace, but for BrainInjuryRF, I will cross that race finish line.

Please join me in supporting Brain Injury Recovery Foundation and all of those who are suffering from TBI’s!
